The Messengers of Allah

The topic of this article is too vast to be explained in a short article. I have limited the subject to just one (most important) branch of this topic. Trusting the special help/support of the Almighty Allah for all seekers of Allah’s guidance, and intellectual abilities of our readers, I have selected only one question, which is the most important for this subject.

Q-1 What are the words of our Allah (verses of the Holy Qur’an); about sending of the messengers towards the mankind?

I am presenting some verses from the Holy Qur’an, which, are directly related with this question and provide explicit answers for this question and many more similar questions.

As proclaimed on this Website, I am presenting the actual verses (words of our Allah) regarding one specific subject (at a time) and the translations of those verses by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Directly below those verse of Holy Qur’an and the translations written by Ahmadi translators, I have presented my understanding of the same verses.

The readers will notice vivid differences (some times exactly opposite) in the meanings derived from the same verses of our one and only Allah Gee. Some times, minute variations can cause an exactly opposit sense (meaning) of the same sentence (verse of the Holy Qur’an).

Almighty Allah has specifically provided guidance for situations, where the believers find, two paries (translators of the book) suggesting conflicting interpretaions for any subject in their Holy Book. The believers are directed/advised to refrain from obeying any one party. Each of us has a duty to analyze both interpretations and accept the one that appeals to the heart & Mind.

Translation (alislam.org)

[3:101] O ye who believe! if you obey any party of those who have been given the Book, they will turn you again into disbelievers after you have believed.

اے وہ لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو! اگر تم نے ان لوگوں میں سے جنہیں کتاب دی گئی، کسی گروہ کی اطاعت کی تو وہ تمہیں تمہارے ایمان لانے کے بعد (ایک دفعہ پھر) کافر بنا دیں گے

Aale-Imran Chapter 3: Verse 101

This verse is a direct and explicit commandment to all believers that; When a situation arises, where two or more groupsULAMAA OR SECTS” are presenting different interpretation of the verses of the Holy Book, then (under that situation) DO NOT OBEY ANY GROUP (ULAMAA OR SECTS). Every believer has to trust his own (Mind + Heart + Eyes + Ears) as the source of God’s Guidance. The believers have to Decide with their own abilities, in such situations.

May the All-Knowing Allah help all readers; in analyzing, recognizing, and understanding the PURE message of their Allah, as the most merciful Allah intended to deliver. Aameen

Please, read the following verses and three versions of interpretation for these verses of the Holy Qur’an.

[4:166] Messengers, bearers of glad tidings and warners, so that people may have no plea against Allah after the coming of the Messengers. And Allah is Mighty, Wise.

کئی بشارتیں دینے والے اور انذار کرنے والے رسول (بھیجے) تاکہ لوگوں کے پاس رسولوں کے آنے کے بعد اللہ کے مقابل پر کوئی حجت نہ رہے اور اللہ کامل غلبہ والا (اور) بہت حکمت والا ہے

Al-Nisa’a chapter 4: verse 166

Commentary

We (Allah) kept sending messengers (messenger after messenger) {who were Mubashareen and Munzareen for the people}. Otherwise, the people (Humans) who lived/born after the life (time) of rasools, could justly argue, that NO messenger had come to us in our life time. Or they could justly say that ; there was NO rasool in our (peoples) life time. Recognizing this Hujjat, (vaild argument), the Almighty Allah claims Allah has Continuously sent Messengers after messenger. Allah does so, because, Allah is capable of this act and because, Allah is wise.

With reference to the scenario expressed in this verse, there is the single possible “HUJJAT” (valid argument) that people can present before Allah. The only rational protection against that “Hujjat” is to continuously send messengers. Only then, the people who will be born or live after the time of the Rasool, shall have another Rasool, who will be a living Rasool during their time of life upon this earth.

Does this verse mean that our Allah had continuously sent rasools as described in this verse? The answer is; YES. This answer is also confirmed by many other verses of the Holy Qur’an.

Verse Number 39:72 (Surah Al-Zumar) and Verses Number 40: 50 – 51 (Surah Al-Momin) are irrefutable evidences that the Rasools continued to come at all times. Please check these verses.

[4:171] O mankind, the Messenger has indeed come to you with Truth from your Lord; believe therefore, it will be better for you. But if you disbelieve, verily, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and in the earth. And Allah is All-Knowing, Wise.

اے لوگو! تمہارے پاس تمہار ے ربّ کی طرف سے حق کے ساتھ رسول آ چکا ہے۔ پس ایمان لے آؤ (یہ) تمہارے لئے بہتر ہوگا۔ پھر بھی اگر تم انکار کرو تو یقیناً اللہ ہی کا ہے جو آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے اور اللہ دائمی علم رکھنے والا (اور) صاحبِ حکمت ہے۔

Al-Nisa’a chapter 4: verse 171

Commentary

O Mankind, whenever/when/if the messenger of your provider (Allah) reaches you or has reached you, (The word “JA’A-KUM” is about reaching in person and physically) thus accept (believe) him. This is better for you to beleive/accept him. If you refuted him, then surely what ever is in the heavens and what ever is in the earth is for Allah. This is so because Allah has the knowledge and the wisdom.

Please, remain aware of the fact that Allah knows, what his is saying, to whom He is addressing. This advice is prescribed in the Holy Qur’an. The most Wise Allah knows, that the people, who believe that this commandment is from their RABB (Allah), will also be believing that the Holy Qur’an was revealed by Allah to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Allah Knows; that all those people who accept that the Holy Qur’an is the word of GOD, have accepted Muhammad (pbuh), as the messenger of Allah. It will not be sensible (wise) to ask those people to accept the same prophet (messenger) to whom; they have already accepted.

This verse has to be about other messengers, who will come after; Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Please, imagine the scenario, which is depicted in this verse. Whereas, the messenger has come to you, therefore, believe (accept) him. Imagine the people, who read this verse of Qur’an, now days (today). In order to act upon this advice, the Messenger should have come to the people of now days (today). This is being advised to those people only, who already believe that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the messenger of Allah and Qur’an is the Book from Allah.

Please, Seek guidance from your caring Allah, then follow the judgment of your own hearts.

[5:16] O People of the Book! there has come to you Our Messenger who unfolds to you much of what you had kept hidden of the Book and passes over much. There has come to you indeed from Allah a Light and a clear Book.

Al-Ma’ida chapter 5: verse 16

Commentary

O, People of the Book; Whereas, Our messenger has come to you (has presented himself before you), who is stating (articulating or elaborating) for you, many topics from the BOOK, which were concealed from you, and our messenger is overlooking your concealment of many topics of the Book. Due to this event (coming of this messenger), enlightenment and true narrator of the Book has reached you. (The messenger is exemplified as a talking book.)

This verse is guidance for ONLY those people, who accept, that this commandment (from Holy Qur’an) is dictated by Almighty Allah. If we misinterpret this verse in such manner; as if this advice being given to other people of the book like Jews or Christians, then, it will tantamount to contempt to the wisdom of Allah. Would the most wise Allah, send his message in Holy Qur’an when the message is solely for those, who do not recognize/believe Qur’an, as a book of Allah.

Whereas, the Holy Qur’an is also a book of Allah, therefore, all believers of this Holy Book are also the People of the Book. This verse/advice is specifically for Ummat-e-Muslimah.

Respectable readers;

The above three (3) references (verses of Holy Qur’an) clearly describe; that Almighty Allah has continued sending his messengers, for all the generations of people. The following reference (Al-Ma’ida chapter 5: verse 20) has further confirmed (certified) that the Most Gracious Allah, did not leave, any period of time, when there was NO living Messenger of Allah to be among the people of any Book.

The Devil (Shai’taan) influenced the desires (opinions) of some interpreters of the Holy Qur’an, and convinced them to change the meanings of the words of GOD. The Devil was aware of the fact; that every person, who will be in hell, must have rejected the messengers of his/her time.

This single article of religion (continuous arrival of rasools) is an absolute deterrent against the mission of Devil (Shai’taan). It is very important for the Devil to deter people from believing in continuous arrival of messengers. The prime objective of the Devil is to mislead the people away from the actual guidance of their Allah.

Therefore, the Devil influences the opinions of the interpreters (translators) of the Book. Just for Example: Please, analyze the following reference for verse 20 of chapter 5, Surah Al-Maida.

Please, note how Jama’at Ahmadiyya misinterpreted this verse to change the true sense of this verse and to support/uphold their FALSE notions/beliefs regarding this topic. They have simply manipulated the meanings of the word “fatra’tim” فترۃ in order to make this verse compatible with their beliefs/views. Apparently, they must have overlooked that by changing ONE word of GOD and by adding an additional word (long) into this translation, the interpretaton of this verse, becomes ridiculous.

Allah was concerned that some believers of the Book (Qur’an) may not say that News-bearer or Warner did NOT arrive TO us or TO our nation, during their life time. How inappropriate it is to translate this verse that results in the following senseless phrase.

According to their interpretation, Allah has stated that; “O people of the Book, our messenger has come to you, after (LONG ABSCENCE OR LONG BREAK) so that; some of you or any of you, may NOT say/claim, that NO messengers had come to us (during our life time).”

Allah the All-Knowing has narrated about the periods of time when the messengers were present among their people. The interpretation of Jama’at Ahmadiyya is focused on the GAPS between those periods.

Please, see the following verse and decide yourself, what is the TRUE message of Allah in this verse.

[5:20] O People of the Book! there has come to you Our Messenger, after a break in the series of Messengers, who makes things clear to you lest you say, ‘There has come to us no bearer of glad tidings and no warner.’ So a bearer of glad tidings and a warner has indeed come to you. And Allah has power to do all things.

Al-Ma’ida chapter 5: verse 20

Commentary

O, People of the Book (Qur’an), our messengers have come to you, in overlapping periods of their time, so that any one (persons) should NOT say, that neither any Basheer nor any Nazeer had come to us. Therefore, Basheers and Nazeers have come to you. And Allah is capable of accomplishing (doing) everything, referring to the task of consistently sending his messengers.

“Ala’a” = OVER as in overlapping periods
“fatra’tim” = period, term, era
“Basheer & Nazeer” = messenger of Allah ....... See verse 6: 49 to confirm this meaning.

[57:29] O ye who believe! fear Allah and believe in His Messenger; He will give you a double share of His mercy, and will provide for you a light wherein you will walk, and will grant you forgiveness — and verily Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful —

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو! اللہ کا تقویٰ اختیار کرو اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لاؤ وہ تمہیں اپنی رحمت میں سے دُہرا حصہ دے گا اور تمہیں ایک نور عطا کرے گا جس کے ساتھ تم چلو گے اور تمہیں بخش دے گا اور اللہ بہت بخشنے والا (اور) بار بار رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

Al-Hadid Chapter 57: Verse 29

Commentary

Most Important: Readers must realize that the Most Wise, Allah is addressing only those people who have already accepted Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) as the prophet of Allah. Please, Notice the First Three Words of this verse. Now, Open your heart and your dignity. Allah is advising the MOME-NEEN (believers in Muhammad (pbuh) and the believers in Qur’an) to believe-in or to accept the messengers of Allah. Definitely, it must be about some other prophet, other than the Holy prophet Muhammad (pbuh) .

Any person Who implies that the messenger, who is referred in this verse is the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is actually insulting the wisdom, dignity of the Almighty Allah.

  1. The message has come in the Holy Qur’an. He who believes in Qur’an also believes that Muhammad (pbuh) is the messenger of Allah.
  2. This verse is also (mostly) addressed to those people who are believers in Qur’an BUT, who are presently reading the Qur’an. The Qur’an is applicable (Book) today, as it was in the past. It is about the messenger of the present time.
  3. In this verse the believers are advised to accept those messengers, who will come in our times in accordance with the Al-A’raaf Chapter 7: Verse 36.

How, it is possible that All-Knowing Allah is calling upon the believers and then asking them to believe in that particular messenger, in whom every one of them is already believing?

If we believe that Allah is wise and dignified, then We shall have to say that this verse must be about the messengers, who will come after the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the life time of different generations of the believers.

[7:36] O children of Adam! if Messengers come to you from among yourselves, rehearsing My Signs unto you, then whoso shall fear God and do good deeds, on them shall come no fear nor shall they grieve.

اے ابنائے آدم! اگر تمہارے پاس تم میں سے رسول آئیں جو تم پر میری آیات پڑھتے ہوں تو جو بھی تقویٰ اختیار کرے اور اصلاح کرے تو ان لوگوں پر کوئی خوف نہیں ہوگا اور وہ غمگین نہیں ہوں گے۔

Al-A’raaf Chapter 7: Verse 36

Commentary

Our Allah Gee has formatted this verse; with such sentences, that even a little attention/focus on this verse, will certainly REPEL all the influences of the Devil (Shai’taan). Notice the LOGIC or rationale which, are provided in this verse.

  1. The tone of the sentence, that IF (in future) or whenever (in future) == “IMM’AA”. In this particular scenario, it is a direct advice to the believers of the Holy Qur’an, that when the messengers from among your own people, come to you, then those; who will amend (rectify) their beliefs accordingly, will be blessed in accordance with this verse.
  2. “Yaa-ti-unna-kum” یا تینکم compels us to think these Messengers must come/reach in physical form (alive in person). This word یا تینکم cannot be translated as reaching of the mention/stories of messengers. ALLAH connected the word “rosollum” رسل with the word یا تینکم in such a manner that there is only one possible translation. That only correct translation is === to physically come to that place where the addressee, is physically (alive) present.
  3. Irrefutable argument = Each and every one of these messengers must be from amongst those people to whom the messenger is sent (appointed) for explaining the verses of their Lord (Allah). It is the most important, element to continue remembering that ALLAH did not forget, ALLAH did not say this verse by mistake or due to carelessness. Each word of this verse is truly and knowingly placed on its proper place. The word منکم is also placed in this verse with definite knowledge. Therefore, each messenger, for any group of the people has to be from among that particular group of people.

This verse alone is explaining the continuity of messengers in all nations. Placing this verse in the Holy Qur’an, means that this advice is essentially for believers of Qur’an and the messengers shall come in every nation, after the advent of Holy Qur’an.

Honourable Brothers and Sisters;

I have presented only 6 references from the Holy Qur’an. These 6 references adequately explain that; Allah has continuously sent his messengers, since the advent of the Holy Qur’an. Some of the honourable readers might look into these verses (word of GOD) and obey, exactly, what has been advised in these verses. Most people might have legitimate objection, dissonance, because of their beliefs, which they had inherited from their respective environments and societies.

I can anticipate some of the possible questions, because, I was also a part of the same society for about 60 years of my life. انشاء اللھI shall explain/answer those questions in my next article and post those answers on this website.

There could be many questions that I shall not be able to anticipate. I invite the readers to write to me and ask me for further clarification as needed. A blank form is provided on this website. Please, write your inquiries. انشاء اللھ I shall provide the explanation as soon as possible.

Some of the anticipated Questions are as follows;

  1. If these meanings are correct as suggested, on this website, then; what is the meaning of the word خاتم النبین Khatam-un-Nabe’en?
  2. Can you clearly state that Allah has revealed this knowledge to you? If so then How?
  3. What other proofs are in the Holy Qur’an, to confirm this NEW and CONTROVERSIAL interpretation?
  4. Has Almighty Allah revealed this notion that claims; continuous coming of messengers to all people?
  5. I need more proof or evidence but not from your own mind. I want to see the verses of the Holy Qur’an, which will prove beyond doubt that messengers had come even after the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), who is also the خاتم النبین Khatam-un-Nabe’en. Can you provide such proofs from Qur’an?

This entire article is written under the guidance/inspiration of the All-Knowing Allah. Yes, it is true that the All-Knowing Allah has revealed many ideas, meanings, understandings (directly) to my heart and/or some part of my brain. I have written this article with my God Given Abilities. The text (words and phrases) of this article are NOT revelation. Please, provide feedback about this article through the form on this website.

A supplementary article (supporting evidences and logical proofs) will be posted on this website, as early as possible. Thank you for visiting this website. May the Most Gracious Allah; reward you for your time and for honouring the words of the Most Honourable Allah. Aameen.

With love, respect, and prayers
